Yapa Bandara was born in 1964 in Kandy, the mythical city on the island of Ceylon (Sri Lanka) where he spent the first 20 years of his life. In 1987, he moved to Antibes Juan-les-Pins in France and joined in 1990 the Safranier Worshop to study all the classical and contemporary techniques of engraving and plastic arts. Yapa held several exhibitions around the world and won art competition over the years.
 
Yapa is a member of the Maison des Artistes and the AIAP UNESCO Committee in Monaco. Yapa is a Multi Art Gallery artist.
